Why having a coach with a counselling background is such a great thing:
If what we are working on becomes emotionally charged and heavy I can hold therapeutic space.
I can identify why the resistance to change and patterns from the past can hold people back are there and where they originate from you so that through awareness, choice and acceptance you can move forward with you aims and life.
I am not fazed by emotion. I can pay attention and work with it.
I can work at a deeper level with you than a lot of coaches can, and if need be, I have a well-established network of specialist places to signpost you to.
Why having a counsellor who also knows about coaching is such a great thing:
You can work on things from the past, but if your focus is more on the present and near future we can focus on that. After all, it's all about how the things you carry affect you in the here and now.
There are more tools in the toolbox available to us - my experience allows me greater flexibility to adapt our sessions to best meet your needs.
Helping you work out what you want and need to do, for what purpose, how and realistically when reduce the sense of overwhelm and can reduce you anxiety levels a lot.
Having gained new self-awareness, we can direct our attention much more to what can be done to improve your situation for yourself in the present, the near future and beyond.
Why working with a therapist who is qualified in complementary therapies is such a great thing:
When it comes to the human body I know about anatomy, physiology and pathology, or, in layman’s terms, what it is, what it does and what can go wrong with it.
This, coupled with a love of neuroscience, means that I can offer psycho-education and illustrations of your physical experiences and collaboratively discuss with you what you can do about it.
Working on you through coaching or counselling is the ultimate in self-care. I can also help you to identify what else works for you outside of the times we are working together.
I can give you practical exercises to take away with you. Also, if you are interested in Mindfulness then we can see which types interest you and work with those approaches.
I hope this has helped to show some of the benefits of working with someone who is able to work with you at a deeper, more holistic level.
The benefits of a wider breadth of experience
