You can get in touch with me using my contact details on the website. If I am busy with clients I might not be able to answer the phone so please leave a message. If you would like me to phone you back, please say so within your message.
If you would like to contact me to see if you'd like to work with me for coaching then I can off a free consultation over the phone. This will typically last for 30 minutes.
This is your chance to ask me questions, to say a few things about what you'd like us to work on and what you aim to come away with from our sessions. There is no pressure on you to book a session during the call but we need to make sure that you have strong intention before we begin.

There is no pressure on you to book a session during the call but you can if you'd like to. We need to be sure we are the right match for each other before we begin.
For counselling, you can self-refer - you do not need a referral from a doctor to have counselling with me.
I charge £50 for a 1 hour counselling session, payable in advance by cash or bank transfer.
Prices for coaching start at £100 for a 1 hour coaching session when a package of 6 sessions or more are booked. Bespoke packages including extended Breakthrough Sessions and Accountability Phone Calls are available. Please contact me to discuss what you are looking for. Stand-alone sessions and packages are payable in advance by cash or bank transfer. The reason the coaching sessions cost more is because you are receiving the additional expertise in resolving your problems and reaching your goals.
Appointments are by prior arrangement only. Payment secures your booking. I do not work on a drop-in basis.
In order to maintain professional boundaries therapeutic work is to only take place within the scheduled appointment times. Please see my Helpful Links page if you need support between these times.
I operate a 48 hour cancellation policy on booked sessions. If you give me less than 48 hours' notice then you will be charged the full amount. This includes sickness, transport issues and acts of nature (flooding, storms, snow, etc.).
If you need to reschedule or cancel and you give me more than 48 hours' notice then I will be able to reschedule you at no extra charge or I can refund you.
I work with young people and adults aged 18 and over on a one-to-one basis.
If you feel the need to bring another person to a session for support, they can sit in with you to hear the contract but after that they must leave us to continue on a one-to-one basis.
Babies and children are not permitted to attend a session with you. They are very receptive and may feed off your emotional state. They can also be a source of distraction for you during session time. Please arrange for childcare in advance.
Apart from official service dogs such as guide dogs, dogs and other pets are not permitted to attend a session with you.
Please let me know of any accessibility or mobility needs you have in advance so that I can cater for these.
Please let me know in advance if you need me to organise a spoken language or BSL translator for individual, face-to-face work.
I currently do not work with children.
Please let me know if you are running late. Likewise, I will let you know if I am running late. If you are running late and have not made contact I will make efforts to contact you to check whether you are ok and are going to attend.
If 20 minutes of your session lapse and you have not arrived by that time then this session is considered as lost (did not attend) as the remaining 40 minutes is not enough time in order to do deep work.
Our sessions take place on a one-to-one basis. Bringing babies, children, dogs and other pets (apart from assistance dogs e.g. guide dogs) or people to accompany you in-session is not permitted. As stated, if a friend has accompanied you then they are permitted to hear the contract with you but will then need to leave so that we can continue on a one-to-one basis.
Attending a session under the influence of drugs or alcohol is not permitted. This is because:
a) you may behave out of character
b) it is a waste of a session because you may not remember much of what would have happened during the session.
All of your emotions are welcome, including anger, as long as it is not directed personally at me. You are allowed to swear during sessions for emphasis.
Bringing any kind of poison or offensive weapon with you to session is not permitted.
Personally directed physical or verbal attacks are not permitted.
If you have a concern or a wish to work in a different way e.g. to be more/less challenging then please mention this civilly during the session so that I can better accommodate the way you want to work - remember, this time is dedicated to you, so I want you to both make the most of it and get the most you can out of it for your own personal development.
Our work is confidential, but here are a few legal and ethical caveats to this:
a) an anonymised situation presented in supervision for feedback on how best to proceed ethically
b) safeguarding reasons to protect you, someone you mention or the wider population from a significant risk (serious and soon)
c) highly illegal situations, particularly people trafficking, drug trafficking or money laundering.
For insurance and membership body purposes I keep brief, objective (factual) notes on sessions held. These acts as evidence that the sessions took place and as a mental prompt so that I can see themes covered and interventions used. These notes are kept in a locked cabinet. After sessions end they are kept in a sealed envelope for 7 years in accordance with GDPR and then shredded, still sealed within the envelope. The only times I would share your records and notes is if you gave me written consent to do so or if I was compelled to by a court order.
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act you may see your session notes.
Please give me a written request if you'd like to see them.
If I see you outside of a session when out and about (e.g. at a supermarket or an event) I will not acknowledge you in order to maintain confidentiality and to avoid putting you in an awkward situation. You can however come up and say hello to me if you would like to.
NB:For counselling, during the first session, you will be required to bring your doctor's name (or main doctor if not assigned to a particular GP), the address of the surgery and their phone number and grant permission for them to be contacted in the event where you may be a risk to yourself - this is for safeguarding your own safety.
